Michael joined Slipstream Group after exiting from Accru Hobart, the successful multi-disciplinary firm he led for 29 years. His varied financial services career of over 30 years has given Michael experience in all facets of the advisory space.

Michael has also been the National Managing Director for Accru, an award winning network of Australian accounting firms incorporating six offices and over 30 partners Australia-wide. In addition to these six high performing Accru firms, Michael has gained international insight into high-quality businesses through his role as Chairman of the CPA Associates International (CPAAI) Asia Pacific Region. CPAAI is a leading international association of independent accounting, legal and consulting firms.

Outside of the Accounting and Financial Advice worlds, Michael has held positions on the Boards of Gymnastics Australia and Caritas Australia. He is currently a board member for the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation and Chairman of St Joseph's Affordable Homes.

Michael offers a unique perspective to his clients, having been a previous Slipstream Group client himself. Michael’s former business Accru Hobart, started working with their Slipstream Coach in 2019 and the firm continues to be a Slipstream client today. Michael experienced firsthand what it is like to have a coach and significantly transform the results of his own firm. This contributes to the quality of advice he provides as he is able to draw upon his own experiences to understand what his clients are going through.

Throughout his career Michael strived to make financial and tax issues as hassle-free as possible for his clients, so they could spend more time working on the parts of their business that they enjoyed. His joining Slipstream Group as a business coach extended from this passion to help clients achieve beyond their expectations. “It's seeing clients grow, develop, bring in the next generation and achieve their life goals that really gives me satisfaction,” he said.

Away from work, Michael is married with four adult children, enjoys staying active and spending time on the golf course.

Sport, serving his community and working towards the alleviation of poverty are important parts of Michael's life. He is involved with various sporting and non for profit organisations.
